Other Opportunities (inside and outside the city!)
Here are some other things to do this summer:
- LA Area: S.A.Y. Yes!
Center For Youth Development at Central City Community
Church of the Nazarene is looking for a few more summer interns to help with
our summer outreach programs. The internship starts on June 10th
(earlier would be fine also) and we could use help until Aug. 15 but we are
flexible and could work out a shorter or longer time also. We are not
able to pay our interns but they are welcome to raise support to cover their
housing and food expenses. The cost would be minimal (approx. $550/month)
and we will line up everything for them. The ministry
includes working with kids K-HS in the skid row area of downtown Los Angeles
helping with VBS, Youth College, Outings, Camp, Day Camp, and more. If you
or anyone you know is interested or for more information they should call
(213) 689-1766 or email
info@lacenralcity.org.
- LA Area: Faith in Christ Ministries
FICM is accepting
interns short term (4-6 weeks) or longer (a semester/quarter or summer).
For the long term internship, the focus would be working with youth,
primarily junior high/high school in their S.A.Y. Yes! Youth Development program.
For short term interns the focus would be administrative, assisting with correspondence,
website, visual projects and helping with the youth. At this point, all intern
positions are voluntary, but FICM can assist with room and board. If you
are interested, or for more information, email Gwendolyn Brown at
ficm@aol.com.
