Rachel Abrahams
Rachel was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She
just finished her first year at Arizona State University in Pre-Business.
Since childhood she has been active in her local church’s youth group and
is currently the vice-president of the Diocese youth group and president
of the Christian college group on campus. Through CSM she has been on five
mission trips throughout the country so she is extremely excited to be a
City Host for a full summer! "I learned so much and had tons of fun on my
other trips that I am thrilled to spend the next few months serving God
through others in a new environment. Also I am excited because this may
be something that I want to do as a career." In high school Rachel was very
active in student government and it bred a strange obsession in her for
planning, organizing and fundraising. "I would love to take what I learn
here and apply it to the urban ministry organization my church is building,
focusing on those areas. -Plus, it’s NASHVILLE! Yee-haw!!!" |
Samantha Consolo
Samantha was raised in McKeesport, PA, which
is right outside of Pittsburgh. She is a junior at the University of
Pittsburgh majoring in Business Marketing. Hosting with CSM this
summer is Samantha's first mission work, ever! Although she has no
experience in the mission field, she has worked with college freshmen as
a University of Pittsburgh orientation leader. Samantha has also
volunteered for the past four years as a Cancer Camp counselor. At this
camp, which is sponsored by a Christian camp, she worked with children
ranging in age from six through seventeen who have cancer. In her spare
time, Samantha likes reading, watching old movies, and hanging with her
friends. The new sport that she is trying to learn, but already loves,
is tennis. "My goal this summer is to show God's grace and to serve Him
in anyway I can."

Sara Kandt
Sara is from Lexington, KY. She is a soon-to-be
senior at the University of Evansville in Indiana, majoring
in Psychology with a focus in Clinical Social Work. Sara has been on
mission trips to a children's home in Tampa, FL, and to Juarez,
Mexico with Casas por Christo. She has worked at a Christian summer
camp and volunteered at Impact Ministries in the inner city of Evansville.
At school, she is involved in Student Christian Fellowship, one of UE's
campus ministries. Sara loves writing, art, reading, playing Scrabble,
music and anything having to do with music, hammocks, flip flops,
heights (and climbing things), and people! "I am excited about serving
with CSM in Nashville because I feel like God has great plans to stretch
me and teach me through this experience."

Melissa McKenney
Melissa is from Russellville, Arkansas. She is
attending John Brown University double majoring in Graphic Design and
Illustration. Melissa has been on mission trips to several places
including Mexico, Uruguay, St. Louis, Detroit, inner-city Indianapolis,
Nashville, and Oklahoma City. She has also helped lead a Disciple-Now
retreat for junior high girls. Melissa enjoys making and looking at art,
missions, music, playing guitar, and hanging out with friends. She is
really looking forward to her time in Nashville. "I think the inner-city
of America (including Nashville) is one of the most important mission
fields for followers of Christ to be involved in, both spiritually and
physically, and I can’t wait to see what things God has in store this
summer for the CSM students, the city of Nashville, and me."

Julie Reeves
Julie is from Louisville, KY, where she is
attending Murray State University majoring in Social Work. She has
participated in mission trips to New York, Pikeville (KY), Mexico,
London, Bahamas, and Amsterdam. She previously had a job at the
Louisville Parks Department working with inner city kids. Julie was
very active in her high school youth group, and after going to college
joined the leadership team in the Christ Ambassadors campus ministry.
Through the ministry she has the opportunity to minister to members of
the group and other students at Murray State. Julie loves to take
pictures, naps, snuggling, hot chocolate, music, and road trips. Her
passion is to love people and to comfort the hurting in any way she can.
"With CSM this summer, I hope to reach the youth with the reality of
what it means to sell yourself out to Jesus...to ultimately live out the
faith they proclaim and have their hearts set on fire by God. My hope
and prayer is that their passion for this world, for the dying, the
hurting and the lost will consume their lives."
