Los Angeles Spring Staff Team 2006
|
Jillian Harp - Jillian
is from Indianapolis, IN and is a senior at Indiana University-Purdue University,
Indianapolis. She is a General Studies major. Her missions experience includes
trips to Honduras, Mexico and teaching a preschool Bible class at an inner
city ministry in Indianapolis. She is on the leadership team of her school's
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship chapter. Jillian loves music, especially live music.
She also paints, draws, crafts and likes lots of color. Jillian spent summer 2005
in Nashville and fall 2006 in LA as a seasonal city host and enjoyed it so much,
she decided to stay and help for spring in Los Angeles. |
Joy Boven - Joy was raised in Wilmore, KY. Her missions experience
includes 3 trips with CSM (Chicago, Toronto and Philly) as well as a trip to San Diego/Tijuana
her 8th grade year. These experiences literally changed her life and changed the way she
lived out her Christian walk. It was because of these experiences that she decided to join
the CSM staff and hosted in Nashville in 2005. She enjoyed her summer and when the opportunity
came up to minister in LA for the spring, she agreed, believing she still had more to do with
CSM. She enjoys music, athletics, and taking adventures where ever the road will take her.
"My goal in working with CSM students, sponsors and staff is simply this: I just want to
please my Father and seek out what it means to be a servant." |
Jason Porterfield - In middle school, Jason dreamed of being the world’s
greatest mathematician, playing guitar in a popular Christian band, and discovering what
sound a giraffe makes...you know, the "usual" teenage aspirations. One day, while reading
the Bible, a disturbing yet exhilarating question popped in his mind: "What would it look
like to actually live out what Jesus taught?" Never could he have imagined how seeking to
answer this question would change his life. Now he dreams of living in the slums of an
Asian megacity so that the unreached urban poor can come to know the love of Christ. Jason
has lived most of his life near Dillsburg, PA - home of the renowned Dill Pickle Drop. He
graduated from Messiah College with a degree in Youth Ministry and is hoping to study
cross-cultural community development at Fuller Theological Seminary. Jason fell in love with
CSM while in college and worked for CSM Philly summer 2005. Now he joins us with a renewed
passion to discover what sound a giraffe makes! |
