We have news.
The gentleman with Kyle and me in the picture is Sunil Sardar, founder of Truthseekers
International. He and his team have been doing some truly groundbreaking ministry in India, reaching
out to a segment of the Indian people that are not only desperately poor, but generally ignored—the
Other Backward Castes (OBCs).
Long story short, Kyle and I have agreed to launch a U.S.-based nonprofit organization
to support and assist in developing the work of Truthseekers in India. Our organization will be known
as Truthseekers North America. (You can find out more about Truthseekers on their website!)
We will be back to you (a lot!) with more on this in the coming weeks and months;
right now, we just wanted to let you know what we’d decided. I want to spend the rest of this note
updating you on the near future—completing our time with CSM.
It has truly been a fabulous 20 years for me, and 16 years for Kyle, to help birth,
nurture, and develop CSM’s ministry throughout North America. I’m pleased to let you know that 2008
looks to be CSM’s biggest year ever, which means that over 10,000 young people and adults will
contribute over 45,000 days of service working alongside our urban ministry partners in Chicago,
Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, and Washington D.C.
Our staff are doing an amazing job, ministering full speed ahead while CSM works through its
decision-making process on a new CEO for the ministry.
Kyle and I are on board with CSM through September 30, transitioning to Truthseekers
North America October 1. This will see CSM through its summer season and the completion of the
Presidential search process.
We’ll be bending your ear on Truthseekers plenty in the future. For now, let me
just say, one more time, THANK YOU for your long-term friendship, prayers, and financial support!
You have had a vital part in the development and growth of one of the finest short-term mission and
service organizations I’ve had the privilege to be associated with. I can assure you that your
support has borne, and continues to bear, great fruit for the Kingdom.
